Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach, Florida

Daytona Beach, Fla. – (August 5, 2011) – The Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has launched a newly-designed website – www.Biketoberfest.org – for its annual motorcycle event, Biketoberfest®, set for Oct. 13-16, 2011.
Biketoberfest.org provides information on the ever-growing list of activities for this popular event, as well as available accommodations and countywide ride routes. Also included is event information for media, vendors and entertainers. The new site taps into the CVB’s expanding social media presence, providing convenient links to the event’s Twitter, Facebook and YouTube pages.
“One of our favorite aspects of the site is the blog section,” explains CVB Specialized Markets Director Georgia Turner. “Our award-winning blogger, Kathy Catron, is a local resident and an avid biker. She’ll be contributing fun, insightful entries on area motorcycle businesses, events and attractions as the event approaches.”
The CVB has renewed its partnership with the Daytona Beach News-Journal for the printing of the 2011 Official Biketoberfest® Guide. Approximately 40,000 guides will be distributed to Biketoberfest® visitors via the CVB’s Visitor Information Centers, located at the CVB’s main office, 126 E. Orange Ave., Daytona Beach; Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona; and the main lobby of Daytona International Speedway. Copies will also be distributed via the newspaper’s outlets. Approximately 5,000 copies of the guides will be distributed outside of the Daytona Beach area prior to the event.
“This is the second year of an exciting collaboration,” says Turner. “The CVB promotes the event, and the News-Journal sells the guide. It allows us to present the visitor-appropriate content we want, and we’re able to get it out via the newspaper’s strong distribution system.”
