Ok, so here's the word.  My friend Matt at Black Rhino Racing has invited me to be on his race team and start preparing to race the Baja1000 in 2010.  So we are on.  We are already putting together contacts for pit crew, photographer, chase vehicles, communications and getting corporate sponsors.

I'm starting this thread to meet some people that have done the Baja 1000 or similar races.  We will need to prepare as much as possible and i'm hoping to find some people that have done the race, or are going to race it, and lets work together to prepare and train for this awesome endurace event!!!

Who's raced the Baja?  Who wants to?   We are most likely going to need some more people.  We want to have 2 race teams so we will need racers and crew members who are serisous about this.

I just started looking into racing the Baja 1000 in 2010 as well.  My uncle and I have been riding for quite some time (dirt and street) and have done quite a few "extreme" adventures together.  We are interested in any help that this site may provide in getting prepared for it. 

Please keep me up to speed with any updates to the 2010 Baja preparations.

I had some plans to race last year and my team slowly started disappearing. I would like to race on a bike team or help out, whatever would be the best place for me. If you guys get serious about 2010 I may even be able to round up support before hand.

and in there go to the group forum and give us more info:  LIke what you do, what you can provide for support and planning pre-race. and what types of position you'd like to do.  RAce, CREW, PIT, mechanic, photographer, etc.....

I just put in to join on the black rhino racing group, I assume this would be the baja team?.... I would like to race and could maybe get some parts and accessories help from a couple of local shops that I'm in with and a few volunteers for chase vehicles and help with mechanic work. I'm a little bit fimiliar with how things work from the last research I did on the baja, but I would like to talk more with everyone and crunch a really good game plan.

yep thats the one.  Matt, our team founder has to approve you since it's a private group.  you'll get an email when it's approved and then you can get in there.  he gets the request via email too so it shouldn't take long.

Thanks for the interest thus far.  We have some riders lined up and the details are coming along quite nicely.  I found information on pits, the need for chase vehicles, insurance for riders and such and Meixcan vehicle insurance.  I am also checking out a nice little rumor that I dug up that Honda offers free pit service for privateers who are riding their bikes.  This would be huge for us because they will do gas, tire changes, the works from what I have found.  I am contacting Honda Racing in the coming weeks to find out the real deal.  Drop Peteor  me a note if you want to be a part of the team, offer up support or just want to help with planning and research.

Right on MATT!!!  I just spent the weekend at Hell City Tattoo Festival and met more people that will help us and at least one more person to race.  He has lots of race experiences riding a desert series in Nevada.  His name is Marty and will be joining FTR in a few days when his computer gets out of the hospital.

I'm tired as heck from the long weekend, but i'll catch up on more stuff this week.  I'm stoked to start preparing and get the teams all figured out.

This was filmed a few years ago, and it is how they named their company:  Nitro Circus!  Pretty cool, I didn't know that.

holy crap, thats a hell of a long drive.  you sure you're down to do that ?  how long would you come out for?  I'll talk to Matt and plan a whole week for us... maybe we can do it when the Baja in Nov. is on.  Will there be any live TV coverage for us to watch?  That would be cool to get us stoked for our race teams and starting trainging.

Also I'm trying to get a new (bigger) house in the next two months so I could put all of you up.  and the house happends to back right up to the mountains/dune, so riding right out the back door!!!!!

Yea it really sucks, but I will try and be prepared to make it. There is going to be live tv coverage on versus. Just keep me updated and lets try to do Nov.

IM game for racing the Baja in 2010.  I can get all my sponsors behind me. but need a teamate and pit crew.

stuntjake, please send me a private message and tell me a bit about your racing experience and your sponsors.  We are putting together 2 teams, and have pit crews lined up already as well as a few sponsors.

I just talked to Matt and the plan is to have 2 teams, and A team and a B team.  The A team will be the more aggressive riders that want to try to make a top 10 finish and a B team to take it a little easier with the goal to finish the race.

we are having a conference call within the next week or two to meet and greet and put all our resources together and decide on all the positions.

i'd love to come along and help. i can take photos & video (i shoot 21mp stills & 1080p video), i could drive chase vehiles, i also know basic motorcycle mechanics (pretty much anything but the motor) and have expirence working with GIS computer applications... whatever will help- i've just really been wanting to go ever since i saw dust to glorywhen it first came out.

I have Baja 250, 500, and 1000 chase experience with an established ATV team.  We have 250/500 wins, and hopefully in November a 1000 win.  I have working knowledge of Baja with a shared vision of racing in the Score series in 2010.

I, however, am a dirtbike rider and am looking for a team.  I am a solid B rider in motocross/supercross and am an A/Expert rider in off-road disciplines like Hare Scramble/Enduro, etc.

I can pull my weight on a competiive team both on the bike and in regard to sponsors/funding.  My current team is willing to offer experienced chase support and the services of the moto dealership we ride/chase with/for.  We have existing working relationships with pit services/clubs in the US and Baja.

2.  Post in the forum there to tell us in some details what it is you can bring to the team and what position you would like to be in  ie:  mechanic, chase crew, racer.   and tell us about your racing experience.
