CBR 929RR

I ran up 3rd gear to somewhere around 10000-11000rpm and just let go of the throttle completely and in doing so it popped out of gear into a neutral state.

That was about a month and a half ago.

It happed again on Wednesday last week, only it was 2nd gear this time, but same scenario.

Do you think I should be concerned or did I just not get it in gear fully?

My father; who used to be a pro super bike racer in the late 70s for a breif period, said his race bike would do that from speed shifting and would eventually leave havoc in the trans. He hasn't been riding since he quit and has no idea how newer bikes are, but seemed concerned and suggested I ask around.

thats pretty weird, but i don't know what could cause that.  something is definitely not right and i would be very careful riding that until you get it checked/figured out.   I'd hate for that tranny to lock and toss you while moving.

Hasn't happened since, but I been keepin it kool and haven't been hot-roddin around as like I was.

wasn't getting it in gear good. Trans looked fairly clean and no unusual marks.

Back to tearing it up, but now having a over charging issue....
