So, I got back from Miller on Saturday.  The weather didn't cooperate, but we still got our sessions in.  Wednesday was cold and rainy.  On the way to the track at 9am, it was 39 degrees and raining hard.  Took the time to unload, do a little track prep....eat breakfast, and watch the sky.  Miller is an amazing location, and a world class track.  Whoever engineered the surface should get a medal, cuz the track dries so quickly we were shocked.  By about 12:30 the rain had subsided...and the temp had warmed up to a balmy 43.  Oh well.....it was time to hit the track and hit it we did.

Imagine this....World Class track, Home of World Superbike in the USA, a track where routinely on track days they have 150-200 riders.....and my buddy rented it for two days.  Two days at Miller.  For 4 guys.  Yupp....there were 4 of us.  Lol....talk about sick!!!!  Me, my buddy Walt, the Sales Manager from his Duc dealership, and Larry Pegram.  Full complement of track workers, corner workers, safety crews, emergency crews, for 4 of us.  Nothing like being a rock star!!!!

So, I brought my S and my R....

Let's just say that having these two bikes at a track like Miller is quite the luxury.  But these two bikes weren't the "Top Dogs" at these track days.  Larry Pegram showed up with his F08 Factory 1098R Race Bike.  The Bike that broke the AMA Superbike "Suzuki Streak".  The Bike that doubled for the first time in Ducati history in an AMA Superbike race.  Not only that, but Walt brought his modified Desmosedici.  FGR800 forks, carbon rotors, BST Carbon wheels, and a stunning Pegram Paint job....

Also on hand, Larry's Formula Extreme 848 from the '08 AMA season.

So with these amazing motorcycles, the 4 of us tore up the track on Wednesday, dodging rain....believe it or not, dodging some snow, and having a kickass time.  On Thursday, the weather got a better.  Started off cold, but it was perfectly clear...we got on the track at about 10:30am...and kicked it 'till 5.  Rode every bike on the site.  And yes, that means I rode Larry's  "A" bike...the F08, The Desmo, The 848, and both my bikes.  What a killer time.  To think that I got a chance to ride the F08, still can't believe it.  Full map, no de-tune.  Holy SHIT is that bike amazing (to say the least).  On my S and my R I have data analyzers.  I data recorded most of my sessions...and have had a chance to look over all the numbers.  Top speed.... 175.  Had one session of 5 laps where I hit 169,173,173,172,175 down the straight.  I must say that I could have gone a few seconds more on throttle...but turn one comes up in a hurry, and I'm not used to grabbin' the binders at 175.  So, setting entry speed off of that straight made for some interesting moments.  All in all...best motorcycle experience of my life.  No kidding.  Thanks Walt!!!!!!  Here are a few pics....
